I'm a mess.

2013-10-31, at 19:54:48

When you don't have a pumpkin, you have to be creative! Happy Halloween!

No, I'm not OK, and no, I won't be OK in a really long time.
All I can say is that Christian and I broke up, and it really hurts. He's been a constant in my life for four
years now, and to suddenly have him... gone, I genuinely feel hollow and as if half of me is missing.
I won't go into any details, because those that should know, they already know, and those that shouldn't know,
well, they shouldn't know.
I can honestly say that I'm a mess, though.

Since I've been a mess lately,
I just haven't had any energy to put into my blog. I can't sleep at night and I look more like a zombie than
I've ever done before. It's frustrating for me not to be able to let my creativity out,
but it's also been kind of nice not to have to worry about writing a dozen blog posts every day.
I'll probably update every now and then from now on, but I'm definitely not ready for updating on a daily basis yet.

Also, NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow,
for those of you who don't know what it is, it's this "campaign" where you're supposed to write a novel of at least 50k words during the month of November.
I'm not quite sure whether I'll try again this year.
On the plus side, I'd finally get my novel written down and I think writing as intensely as it takes to finish the novel could distract me from my thoughts et.c.
On the downside, it'd take up all of my spare time, and since it's quite an enormous task to add to my already overwhelming amount of school work, I could possibly end up feeling (and looking) even worse than I do now.
Decisions, decisions...

Anyway, this was all I had to say to you today. I hope you understand that I really can't cope with blogging right now, and that you're having a great time without me!
I'm also so happy to see that you're all still there, checking my blog every day even though I'm not updating. You're amazing!

2013-10-23, at 22:28:09
Hi everyone!

I'm sorry to inform you that due to personal matters, I'm taking a small break from blogging.
I'm in no fit state to focus on my blog right now, and I really hope that you'll understand that and that you'll be OK with it.
I don't know how long I'll be gone, probably not that long, since my blog is a huge part of my life, but I'll
probably be gone for at least a couple of days.

Until then, have a great time! I love you all! <3

Crazy days, city lights.

2013-10-23, at 20:44:00

This is how crazy you can feel after getting home from a long day in school.
Today was kind of OK, and I don't have any homework for tomorrow because we have work experience on Thursday and Friday. I told myself I'd spend the day scheduling posts for tomorrow and Friday, but did I?
Nope. I've spent my evening watching half a season of Two Broke Girls (love the show) and playing Hotel Transylvania Dash (which has finally been updated and works again!).
A pretty chill evening, but I'm going to have to get myself together to schedule a few posts, at least for tomorrow.
It'd also be very nice if I managed to schedule a few posts for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday too.

Disney Medley.

2013-10-23, at 16:09:42
I can't say I've been the biggest fan of Disney movies throughout my life,
but I love the music from the movies (especially the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast). I've already showed you After Ever After by Paint, which was a form of Disney medley, but it was more of a parody of Disney, really.
This, on the other hand, is classical true Disney, featuring songs from The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. The videos' wonderfully made, and this is just pure Disney magic.
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do! :)

Eos lip balm.

2013-10-22, at 21:53:03

As you probably know already,
I bought an eos lip balm yesterday, and I thought I'd make a quick "review" with my opinions on it.
I bought mine from Kicks, and it cost me about 10€, which I think is extremely expensive for a lip balm, but you
get a lot of product for your money.

First of all, I really love the packaging. The balms come in a variety of wonderful colours, I'd love to own them all someday. They're small enough to keep in your pocket, yet big enough to keep in your handbag
(I think lip balms are usually very difficult to find in your handbag if you have a bigger handbag). They're a fun
shape, and they're perfect to juggle with!

They smell really nice, mine smells of pomegranate and raspberry. The scent isn't too heavy or too overpowering, the balm itself tastes slightly sweet but doesn't taste sickeningly sweet like some other lip balms do.

The most important aspect, though, is how well it moisturizes your lips. I've only had mine for a day,
but my lips are already smooth and silky, and not at all chapped anymore. I usually get very dry lips during Autumn and Winter, so it's nice to finally have found something that actually works!

All in all, I'd give it five out of five kisses.

My man-crush.

2013-10-22, at 19:43:55

One of my favourite youtubers,
Troye Sivan, just hit 1 million subscribers on youtube, something he really deserves.
He's funny, clever, nerdy, gorgeous and gay, and I don't think it's possible to find a more perfect man anywhere.
Seriously. He's still so very young, and I believe he'll become a big celebrity someday if he continues like this.

This video had me in tears, that's how funny he is (especially his "what"):

And his "1 million subscribers"-tweet was just too precious:

So, waste no time and start stalking Troye Sivan right away, it only costs you your soul. ;)

Gay is not an insult.

2013-10-22, at 09:44:35

I just feel like sharing a comment I got on this gif on gifyo.com:

Random dude:  This maybe the gayest shit i've seen on gifyo.
Me: The word "gay" is not an insult, therefore I'm not insulted. I associate the word gay with "fabulous", so thank you! :)

On a different note, I just came back from the dentist. They drilled out a cavity, and it really wasn't very calming
at all when the dentist told me it "Shouldn't hurt" before she started drilling. Yeah, thanks.
It feels weird now, because half of my face is numb and I constantly have to check so that I'm not drooling.

I've been busy all day today, I woke up late and then my mum told me I had half an hour to get dressed and
ready before we had to go shopping, so naturally I didn't have time to blog before I left.
I found some stuff I really liked, I'll show you later after the winner of the contest has been revealed!

Shoulder pain.

2013-10-20, at 16:46:07

A gif from last Friday, because posts without pictures are the worst.

I know I haven't posted very much yesterday,
but I actually have a reason for not doing so. I must've slept in a weird position last night,
because my shoulder's been killing me today. It feels as if someone's trying to pull my arm off
my body, I've tried stretching, I've tried massaging my shoulder and neck, but nothing works.
I also haven't been able to type properly, because typing and sitting in a position that's comfortable with the laptop has been basically impossible. I just took a painkiller, though, and now I'm just sat here waiting for it to start working.

I promise I'll update more once my shoulder's better, though!

Addicted.

2013-10-19, at 21:59:53

I discovered a new mobile game today,
Hotel Transylvania Dash is a game based on the animated film Hotel Transylvania.
It's similar to many other "dash" games you can find on the internet, basically you run a hotel and you have
to see to it that every guest has what he or she needs. It requires an ability to handle stressful situations and to keep your head cool, and it's extremely entertaining and addictive!
(I don't know if it's available on App Store, but it's at least available for Androids)

The first few levels are free,
because you actually download the demo version at first, but then you have to buy the game to be able to
pay the rest of the levels. It's the first game I've actually paid for, and it's definitely worth it!
The only issue I've had with the game is the fact that it stops working at level 32 when a new element is
introduced, but apparently that's happened to a lot of people and I suspect the developers are working
on fixing it. I want to keep playing now, though!

Now you know what I've been up to today, haha! :D

Mum and I tried making kale chips yesterday,
since I managed to find some kale at the store, and apparently the recipe is supposed to be foolproof.
However, that didn't stop us from fudging things up anyway.
I think we used too much oil, and we definitely used too much salt - they were completely inedible.

Better luck next time, perhaps?

New In: Helsinki Haul.

2013-10-18, at 16:16:43
We started our trip yesterday by spending two hours in a bus.
Not very pleasant, but it could've been worse. When we arrived in Helsinki, we were all terribly confused and felt
terribly lost, but luckily the shopping center was right next to the bus stop.

The first store we went to was 1D World, because conveniently enough, it was located right next to the toilets.
(We also discovered you apparently have to pay to go to the toilet in Helsinki...)
After taking ages to decide which t-shirts we all wanted, we snapped a few pictures with the cardboard cut-outs
of the boys and then decided to go and grab a bite to eat.

We strolled around a few stores, but I didn't really find anything in Kamppi (one of the shopping centers we went to), apart from a pair of regular, thick black tights from BikBok. I'm glad I found them, though, because I have
a feeling I'll need them this winter! Jasmin and Annika aren't apparently very fond of wearing tights,
and I can understand that you feel a bit naked wearing only tights if you're used to wearing jeans,
but since I've worn tights for years I feel completely comfortable in them.

After we, more or less accidentally, stumbled across the tunnel leading to Forum I found a few more
items in the Carlings shop there. I absolutely love the sweater, it's so comfy and warm!
And the Union Jack socks are amazing!

I also found a wonderful teacup in Indiska there,
it's the perfect size for me and a lovely shade of pink!

Upstairs Vs. Downstairs.

2013-10-18, at 13:17:57

Nick Pitera is an amazing musician that I've been following for quite a while now,
he's the man behind many of the One Man Medleys I love (e.g. Les Misérables, Disney, Phantom of the Opera)
and he's incredibly talented. In his medleys, you really can't tell he's a man when he sings the female parts
in certain songs.

He's now come up with the idea of covering songs both in his upper register,
and in his lower register, and posting them in separate videos. I know he can manage both of the registers
flawlessly, so I'm really excited about seeing his future covers!

Here's his first cover in the series, Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus:

Which cover do you think sounds better? :)

we didn't end up in Lapland and we found 1D World.
I'll tell you more about our trip tomorrow, and show you what I bought, because I'm absolutely knackered

BLOG YOUR HEART OUT.

2013-10-17, at 15:47:00

I was nominated for a "blog your heart out - Award" by Victoria (http://jinxedv.blogg.se/),
and since I'm probably running around Helsinki at the moment, I decided that it'd be great to schedule this post
so that it's posted... ehrm, well, now.
(Logical, huh?)

1. What and/or who encouraged you to start blogging?
I had a few friends at the time who had blogs of their own, and they encouraged me to start blogging
by, for example, offering to help me with the design of my blog. I also kind of encouraged myself,
because I felt like I just needed a creative outlet and I wanted attention
(it's actually kind of sad, but yes, I wanted attention, and I still do. I think every blogger wants attention, otherwise they'd just keep journals instead).

2. How did you choose a topic to blog about?
The character of my blog's changed a lot since I first started blogging about three or four years ago,
because I, myself, have changed a lot since then. When I first started out, I liked rock music,
I wasn't quite sure of who I was, and I fell hopelessly in love with anyone who paid me even the slightest bit of attention. I wrote a lot about music, about the meaningless things that happened in my life and a lot of posts
designed to show the world how "cool" I was.
I am, however, proud of the nail-art I did at the time. I was very passionate about my nails,
and since school wasn't very demanding at the time, I actually had the time to spend hours on my nails
every week.
Nowadays I write a lot about things that interest me. That's my criterion: I have to love the things I write about.
If something doesn't interest me, I don't write about it, no matter how many readers I'd gain from it.
That's how I choose what to blog about.

3. Something most people don't know about you?
I hate these kind of questions, because I can never think of a single thing that people don't know about me...
Maybe that I dream of my future fiancé (whoever that may be) proposing to me at the London Eye?
Or that I always check for monsters underneath my bed before I go to sleep?
Or that I had a crush on a fictional vampire once (Benedikt from Got Fangs by Katie Maxwell, if you must know.
A book that I highly recommend!)

dark shadows | via Facebook

4. Which three words describe your style/traits?
Style: Geeky, weird, lazy.
Traits: Geeky, weird, lazy.

5. What do you like to do when you're not blogging?
My blog is basically my life, I'd never function properly without it, so it goes without saying that I spend a lot
of time on my blog. When I'm not, however, blogging or planning blog posts, I love to:
read, sleep, watch TV-series, watch films, relax, sleep, eat, spend time with my closest friends,
be weird, sleep, read some more, think about blogging, lie on my bed and do absolutely nothing.
Of course I do boring school stuff too, I spend hours studying every day, but it's not like I (usually, there are
exceptions) enjoy doing that.

Lastly, who would you like to nominate?
Oooh goodie. I hate nominating people, but I never know who to nominate. I have a few close friends
who blog, but not all of them are very dedicated to their blogs, so I'll nominate both close friends and people I "know" through my blog.

Louise, Sofie, JamJam, Malin and Emmi.

The Sleepy Hallow | Alright guys, last one  whew! that was fun!  | via Tumblr

Since I had a few hours of spare time after I finished my homework today,
I decided to watch Hocus Pocus, which is apparently a classic when it comes to Halloween movies.
I haven't seen it before, probably because it seems like it's mostly famous in the USA,
but I have to say I quite enjoyed it.
I especially enjoyed seeing Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson, she's one of my favourite actresses!

"After 300 years, three sister witches are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it us up to two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches reign of terror once and for all."
- IMDB

I'd say that it's definitely a movie everyone should watch before Halloween,
it may not sound very enticing to a teenager of today, but it's well worth watching.
The music's awesome, the actors are great and it's not too long and not too short. I liked it.
A lot.

Giraffes.

2013-10-11, at 21:43:55

On the cover of my biography book,
there are two giraffes. I've always thought that giraffes are beautiful and elegant creatures.
I've always been curious about their horns, so I asked my biology teacher about it today.
She said she didn't know why they have horns, so I decided to find out and share it with you!

A giraffe's horns are actually called ossicones,
they're formed from soft cartilage that has hardened (ossified).
Females have tufts of fur on their ossicones, whereas males have bald ossicones, this enables
people to determine the sex of a giraffe easily.
Males use them to deliver heavier blows during sparring contests, which is one of the reasons to why
their ossicones are bald.

2013-10-11, at 11:03:00

I decided to buy a Ben & Jerry's after school last night,
because yesterday felt like such a miserable day and I just needed to cheer me up.
After Malin introduced me to Peanut Butter Cups a while ago, I've wanted to try the Ben & Jerry's
Peanut Butter Cups flavour. It was a perfect combination between sweet and salty, although it was
quite rich and I wasn't able to eat a whole lot of it before I grew tired of it.

A plus, though, is that it doesn't contain chocolate, because I don't eat chocolate right now. :)

Throwback Thursday.+

2013-10-10, at 16:42:45

From my gifyo, four months ago:

I could write a deep post about how I hate how fake and hollow I've become, and how I really want my old and free self back. How I hate being bound to people, knowing that you hold their lives in your hand. How I miss the times when I was single. How I don't really feel loved although all of the people around me tell me they love me. How I just want to get out of this town. How I'm dying to move to London. Yeah, I could write all that. But I bet no one would bother to read it.

Dumb Ways to Die on Android.

2013-10-10, at 10:20:45
I was so happy yesterday when I noticed that Dumb Ways to Die is available on Play Store,
because I've watched all of lonniedos' videos playing the game, and I absolutely love the song.
It's so fun, but a bit challenging though.

Also, in case you haven't seen it yet, here's my cover of the song:

Regina Spektor has been one of my favourite musicians for a few years now,
she's amazing and has an enchanting voice. I especially love Blue Lips, it's so awfully beautiful,
and just like her other songs, the lyric tells a whole story and actually has a meaning.

Do you like Regina Spektor? :)

Good morning everyone!
I'm in school right now, and we're getting our exams back. So far I've gotten my
Geography exam, and I'm happy with my result. :)
What I'm not happy with, on the other hand, is my hair, because no matter what I do it's
always in the way. But it's also pretty fun to play with and I like my long hair better
than any short hairstyle ever!

Being a Nerd.

2013-10-08, at 19:21:26

Last weekend I was watching Skavlan with my parents,
when a Norwegian author (among other things) was a guest there. His name is Hans Olav Lahlum,
and he's considered to be Norway's "National Nerd". He holds the world record for longest interview,
where he was interviewed for 30 hours non-stop (that's crazy!)
In a way, he reminds me a lot about Sherlock Holmes: He said he doesn't get tired very easily,
he sometimes forgets to eat because he doesn't seem to have the need to eat like a normal
human being, and he's incredibly dedicated to his work (meaning he writes at least a few
novels a year).

He also talked a bit about the term "nerd",
and that people seem to think it's a negative thing to be a nerd.
He, on the other hand, thinks it's a compliment, because it means you're acquainted with the subject you're
interested in, and you're an expert on it.
I have to say that I completely agree with him, being a nerd simply means you're very passionate
about something and you know a lot about it - and what on earth is wrong with that?

2013-10-08, at 15:01:57

Hi everyone,
I just got home from school, had dinner and now I have to rush to driving school, haha!
I'm still happy, though, because I managed to get some school stuff sorted out today and we have
so many fun things going on and planned with Be Younique.
There are still certain aspects of my life that are complete and utter chaos right now,
but I'm hoping I'll be able to sort them out soon too.

I have to go now, though, so I hope you'll have a lovely day! :)

We welcomed a new member into our Be Younique crew,
her name's Camilla, he's fifteen and she lives quite close to the rest of us.
We wanted her in our group because she's been through a lot and still manages to be positive.
She also thinks that people should be themselves, and tries to inspire people to be just that.

You should all head over to >her blog< and check it out! :)

HOW TO STUDY.

2013-10-07, at 21:12:00

My English teacher is constantly telling us to look at the mistakes we've made,
whether it be in our compositions or in our course tests, because the only way to make sure you don't
repeat those mistakes in the next test, and the test after that, and the test after that, is to really look
at what you did wrong and learn the correct way of spelling the word, or constructing a sentence.

Don't just toss your exam in the bin if you did badly, learn from your mistakes instead, and do better in
your next exam!

Mym helped dye my hair yesterday,
and now it's orange. Very orange. I'm not quite sure whether I like it -
I love how natural the light ginger colour looked, but I'm sure this will fade too.
Maybe next time I'll try a lighter shade. :)

NEW IN: Autumn & Winter.

2013-10-07, at 15:44:23
Shoes - H&M, Lumberjack shirt - H&M, Jacket - Stadium, Leggings - H&M, Above the knuckle rings - H&M.

I wrote my last exam today,
which was Maths. I probably fudged up, because it felt very easy... and I was finished with it
a lot earlier than most of the other students, so for the last half an hour or so I was just sitting there completely
paranoid, wondering "What have I missed? I've probably done something wrong... there's got to be
something funny about at least one of these questions... dear Merlin what have I missed?!"
Oh well, after I finished the exam, I went to Turku with my parents because they needed to buy meat
for soups or whatever.

I also felt like it was finally time for me to get a proper winter jacket,
because apparently it's unacceptable to live in Finland, where it's like -25 degrees Celsius during the winter,
if you don't have a winter jacket. It was quite expensive, but mum decided to be kind and buy it for me.
I just love how big and cozy it is!
I also love, love, love the boots that I bought from H&M, after I first saw them on Sofia's blog.
I was so happy when I saw that they had them in 36 in the store, because 37 was much too big for me.
I'm also in love with my above the knuckle ring, apparently they're really trendy right now,
and it's gorgeous! (It's actually two separate rings, but I prefer wearing them together)

Overall, I'm really pleased with everything I bought, and they're things that I know I'll actually use too!

My biggest inspiration.

2013-10-06, at 10:16:09
All of the pictures are from Zoe's blog.

Victoria from our Be Younique crew wrote a post about someone that inspires her,
and I thought I'd do the same. I've written a bit about Zoe earlier, but she's definitely worth writing about
again and again and again, because she's one of those rare, sparkling people that makes you
feel happy no matter what. She's been through so much, she suffered from panic attacks
for years, but she overcame them, by being positive and challenging herself.
I've been following her blog and her youtube challenge for about a year now, and I never miss a blog
post or a video. She's a wonderful blogger, and an even better vlogger!

"Just say YES!"
is her motto, because it was by saying "yes!" that she overcame her panic attacks.
She's now inspiring and encouraging teenagers all over the world to do the same,
to live their lives the way they want to, and not to let anything like panic attacks stop you.
Just look at where she's gotten - her youtube channel has skyrocketed in the last few years,
and she's even met One Direction!

She's also insanely beautiful,
she has the most perfect hair I've ever seen, and it really doesn't matter what she does to it -
it always looks amazing! She's so awfully pretty, it almost melts your eyes when you look at her!
Her smile is the cutest smile I've ever seen, and it makes you smile too.

If you suffer from panic attacks or anxiety, you should probably watch her video:

I'm going home.

2013-10-05, at 21:57:24
♥(x)

I'm in quite a bad place at the moment,
so I'm just going to turn off my laptop and my phone and read Harry Potter for the rest of the evening.
It's what I do when I feel bad, when I'm sad, when I'm ill et.c.
I return home.
Because when I'm reading the Harry Potter books, it's like meeting my old friends that I haven't
talked to in a while. And when I read the books, I can feel the soul of my past self etched into the pages,
when I read certain parts I remember how I felt the first time I read them,
I remember how lonely, small and fragile I was when I first read the books.

What do you do when you're not feeling well?

As I mentioned earlier,
I don't have facebook at the moment. Because of exam week, I thought it'd be wise to log out from facebook
and delete the facebook app, and I haven't checked facebook a single time since last Saturday!
I'm planning on going back to facebook next Monday, after my last exam is over.
It actually hasn't been very difficult at all to live without facebook, I have other means of contacting
those dear to me, and I haven't been forced to talk to people I don't like.
So it's been great, actually!

Touching wedding video.

2013-10-05, at 13:05:00

Jordan + Devon from Crescent Bay Films on Vimeo.

I saw this video on Elizabeth's blog yesterday,
and it's the cutest, most touching video I've seen in a long time!
What really got me was the
"Why me? What am I going to do? Will anyone love me? I'll never get married."
part. It's so touching to see that these two found love and were able to get married,
because not everyone has the right to marry the person they love.
Which is wrong. But I'm so glad more and more videos like these are popping up, and that it seems like
the world is becoming more and more accepting towards the LGBTQ-community.

No freedom til we're equal,
Damn right I support it.

Tortoise vs. Cat.

2013-10-04, at 17:58:39

First of all I just have to say that I'd never let a tortoise bite my cat,
nor would I let a tortoise bite anyone else's cat. So I really don't understand why the person filming this
didn't do anything to stop the tortoise.

But this video is hilarious, the way the tortoise seemed so determined to bite the cat,
and the cat's reaction to it. I also think it's quite funny how the tortoise ended up with a
mouthful of fur at the end.

Vikings.

2013-10-04, at 10:31:18

Did anyone see the first episode of Vikings on Swedish TV4 yesterday?
I watched it, and I can honestly say that I really, really liked it!
I don't know how historically accurate it is, but it was still interesting to see what kind of customs
and traditions they had among the vikings and what their lives were like.

I actually liked it so much that I'm going to watch the second episode now, while I
get ready to go and meet Louise.
Also, the health exam was a lot easier than I thought it'd be, it just required a lot of writing
(10,5 pages... by hand. phew), buuuut that was my last exam for this week!
Now there's just one exam left, which is maths, but I'm not going to worry about that at all today!

Have an awesome day! <3

HOW TO STUDY.

I know that it's tempting to pop into the store on your way home from school,
and buy a bar of chocolate or a bag of sweets. And sure, those things will give you energy to study.
For about 15 minutes, and then you'll be even more tired than you were before you ate them.
Therefore you should try to eat healthy while studying, you'll be able to concentrate much better!

Maria Montazami.

2013-10-03, at 17:49:08

As some of you probably know already,
my dad works on Viking Grace. He's gone for a week at a time, so he calls mum every evening so that
he gets to speak to us every day. When he called me last Sunday or Monday (I can't quite recall which day it was),
he told me Maria Montazami was there on a cruise, and he asked me if I wanted her autograph.
The benefits of having a dad working on a cruise ship. ;)

Montazami's definitely my "favourite" of the Swedish Hollywood wives,
she seems like the most humane and kind woman of them all. Some of the others aren't quite sane,
to put it gently.
There are a few pictures up on >Maria Montazami's blog< from the cruise,
so check them out. :)

"Wizard at work"

Good day everyone, how are you today?
The English exam was OK, but I have to study my arse off for the health exam I have tomorrow.
Not so fun, but that's the last exam I have this week.
As you might have noticed from the picture above, I stuck a sticker on my computer,
to let everyone I'm studying and that I shouldn't be disturbed.
But I don't have an owl, like Merlin does.

I wish I did, though, owls are magnificent.

It seems like the government shutdown in the USA is affecting me too,
my background image is temporaringly missing because it was one of NASA's pictures,
and NASA's web page is down because of the shutdown.
This means the "Comment here" button looks quite invisible, but it's still there. :)

Even though you think you know everything,
let's face it: You probably don't.
And revising is what will make it really stick, if you don't revise it, you'll forget it quite quickly.

But he was gone when autumn came.

2013-10-02, at 17:32:13

Autumn's finally arrived for real,
there was frost on my window when I woke up this morning and all of the trees are turning yellow,
orange and red.
I also wrote my history exam today, and nearly lost my hand in the process, because my
wrist hurt so bad afterwards. But at least it's over now, it was the exam I was the most anxious about.
Two down, three more to go.

On Friday I get to meed Louise again, and after exam week is over I can finally begin reading
The Great Gatsby, and answer all of your questions.
I have a lot to look forward to! :)

Government Shutdown: Madness.

2013-10-02, at 12:07:28

This is literally my opinion on America at the moment.

In case you've been living under a rock since yesterday,
I can inform you that the government in America's been shut down.
I don't claim to be an expert on the matter, but as far as I've understood it,
there's a disagreement about the "Obamacare" and the Republicans caused the
government shutdown.
Basically, it all means that the American economy will be affected very negatively
and federal employees are now on unpaid leave until the shutdown is over.

If you want any more information about this, in understandable English, I'd strongly advise
you to take a look at my friend >Elizabeth's post on the topic<.
Her fiancee is also affected by the shutdown, so for their sake, and all of the other Americans too,
I do hope that the American politicians can get their shit together.
Preferably sometime soon.

HOW TO STUDY.

2013-10-01, at 21:16:06

If you're studying a language or a subject where you encounter a lot of difficult words,
write down the words on post-its (one word/post-it) and the definition/translation on the back of the post-it,
and just stick them on places in rooms where you spend a lot of time, like the bathroom, kitchen,
your bedroom et.c.
That way, whenever you see one of the post-its, you have to define or translate the word written on it,
and if you don't know the answer you can just check the backside of the post-it. :)

Psst, I'm sorry that my blog is kind of boring right now,
I just don't have a lot of spare time at the moment. It will get better soon, promise!
