New Year's.

2013-12-31, at 09:56:54
Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014 ;)
Good morning!
Today I'm going driving for a bit, and then later today I'm having a sleepover with my friends.
I can't quite believe that tomorrow's my 18th,
where's my childhood gone? :(
What are you doing for New Year's?

Hello everyone!
I had my driving theory exam today, and I passed! I'm so happy, haha! :D
It was only the theory exam, and I still have a long way to go, but I'm one step closer to finally getting my driver's license.
I'm probably going to spend the rest of my day cleaning, though, because I'm having a sleepover with a few of my friends tomorrow and one of them happens to be allergic to cats. Which is awful when you're a devoted cat owner. :(

Because every other blogger seems to have done this already,
I'm going to post pictures of some of the most important things that happened to me in 2013.
In no particular order.
(Because I can't be arsed with sorting the pictures chronologically)
I saw The Voice of Finland live on Viking Grace.
I actually spent a lot of time on Viking Grace.
I donated a bit of money to a few different charities, one of was the Rainbow Centre in Sri Lanka.
I stalked a lot of youtubers.
A lot.
I met Olli from Reckless Love. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 *fangirling forever*
I dyed my hair ginger, and at first it ended up really ginger.
I fell in love with Jonas Gardell's TV and book series "Don't Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves".
This happened. And ended. It was the happiest time of my life, because after three years, I was finally able to call him mine. Until I wasn't.
I became the blog of the week over at!
I decided to make my own jar of dreams. I'd have to toss out at least 75% of those stars now, though.
(Hint: Don't build your entire future around a single person.)
Malin and I went and bought cruisers together. We had great fun cruising around, although we never quite got to ballet penny boarding.
We spent a weekend together at Emmi's summer place (Emmi's not visible in the picture because she's the photographer).
I went to my very last music camp. I'll miss the camp and the people enormously next summer! <3
We also waved Malin goodbye with a surprise party before she went to Austria for a year.
2013 has been a pretty sad year for me. I think I've cried more in 2013 than any year before,
so I just hope 2014 will be kinder to me.
What's your year been like? :)

More presents.

2013-12-29, at 11:27:22
Here's the stuff that dad got me for Christmas!
Like I said, I picked them out but he paid for them so technically, they're a Christmas present.
I intend to use the JD-glass as a candle holder, I just thought it's pretty. :)
I absolutely love the SNÖ-earrings, they're a really pretty rose gold (although it won't show in pictures, it looks more like regular gold), and I've been looking for a pair of small-ish everyday earrings to wear, that still look cute.
(And yes, I know, the pictures are horrible. I'm not happy with them either, but the lighting was awful in the cabin.)

Sweet Saturdays.

2013-12-28, at 20:48:00
I've been thinking about starting a proper schedule here on my blog,
with a recurring theme for every day of the week (e.g. Throwback Thursdays)
The theme for Saturdays would be Sweet Saturdays, meaning that every Saturday from now on, I'll post a video,
picture et.c. that I find really sweet.
This week I want to show you a video by Michelle Phan and her boyfriend, Dom.
This video is soooo sweet, and they're so cute I just want to throw up on them.
(In a good way, of course.)
I'd totally steal Dom away if I could, because, I mean... unf, just look at him! He seems like such a sweetheart!

My Christmas Presents.

2013-12-28, at 14:00:48
The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Leatherbound and gorgeous!
I want to marry it!
Estée Lauder - Hot Lava.
A handbag from H&M.
A book from Linnéa and a mug from Wilma.
 Two thermos mugs.
Percy & Reed Dry Shampoo and Dry Conditioner.
Socks and chocolate from my grandparents.
A t-shirt with a fox on it from Emmi.
I'm so happy with everything I got this year!
I got exactly what I wanted, and stuff I actually need.
I also got some stuff that I picked out at the cruise, which dad then paid for me. I'll show you those things later!
I also got some home-made Christmas sweets from Louise, when we met up last week to grab a coffee together. I think that was sooo sweet and considerate, that she actually put time and effort into my gift!
Sadly, I don't have any pictures of the sweets, because I already ate them. :(
Are you happy with what you got for Christmas? :)

Hello everyone!
I'm so glad to be back home again, and I decided to really sleep in today.
I've studied a bit for the theory part of my driver's license,
and I've also been to Jasmin's house and seen the This Is Us One Direction film.
I hadn't seen it before, and it was actually really, really great, and it felt like you really got to know the lads
a lot better through the film. :)
And Zayn is really quite dreamy, isn't he?
Cute <3
Smile <3
Posté le mardi 06 novembre 2012 21:12 - It's still written in the scars on our hearts.
I mean... who wouldn't want to scratch that stubble?!
I also haven't had time to photograph my Christmas presents yet,
but I can happily say that I love them all and that I'm so very thankful for every single gift that I got this year!
Here's a preview of one of the presents I got, though:

Stockholm Adventure.

2013-12-26, at 00:50:33
Christmas Day. 7 p.m. Finnish time (6 p.m. Swedish time). 7 degrees Celcius outside. Some spare time to kill.

Since the Christmas cruise officially ended around 3 or 4 today,
the ship's void of any passengers (apart from the crew and a few of the crew's family and friends).
We're staying in Stockholm over the night, and head back home tomorrow according to the normal schedule.
This all means that most of the crew got off work early, and headed out to explore the city.

Dad asked me if I wanted to take a walk - and of course I said yes!
I'm so in love with Stockholm, and it's such a beautiful city, although I realise the reality might look a lot different if you actually live there.
We walked for almost two hours, and I stopped to photograph almost everything.
These are just a few of the pictures, and they're honestly not that great, because I don't have either the skill nor the equipment needed for proper photography in the dark.
I hope they will suffice anyway! :)

I really love Gamla Stan in Stockholm. It's so cozy and beautiful, and the architecture is amazing!

Outside of the castle.

We found a giant Christmas tree! And it was real!

If you're lucky enough to have a cabin on the other side of the ship, you can see Gröna Lund.
I have a luxurious view of a massive stone wall instead.

I really ought to go to bed now, though!
Since I've been sick (like proper sick, my Christmas dinner didn't seem to fancy the thought of staying in my stomach) for the past two nights, I've mostly just spent time in my cabin.
I really don't see any reason to walk around the ship either. I'm already familiar with the ship, and there are people there. *shudders*
Tomorrow I have some shopping to do, though. :)
Nighty night my lovelies!

Merry Christmas!

2013-12-24, at 08:38:00
Merry christmas ♡
Lots of love to you all from a slightly (very) rainy Stockholm!
I haven't had the best night so far, around 3 a.m. I woke up and nearly vomited, and I've been up
since then, trying not to vomit... I feel a bit better now, though, and dad brought be some water.
(And no, I'm not hungover or anything. I'm suspecting it's something I ate yesterday.)
We're going to take a short stroll through Stockholm later, because apparently the ship doesn't leave Stockholm
until 1 p.m. Swedish time.
So this Christmas certainly isn't ordinary for me in any way,
and it feels quite odd. It doesn't quite feel like Christmas.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and hope that you get to spend it with your loved ones!
If you don't, then I hope they'll at least be with you at heart. :)

Gracious Greetings!

2013-12-23, at 23:56:07
Greetings from Viking Grace!
I feel like I practically live here nowadays, haha!
I'm not quite sure whether I mentioned it or not, but I'm spending my Christmas here, with dad.
He's worked on Christmas many times in my life, which means he's been alone on Christmas many a time.
This year I decided to keep him company, but alas it means my mum's now spending Christmas alone.
I'm currently sitting in my cabin, watching Bingolotto's uppesittarkväll.
It's crazy, haha! Are any of you watching it too?
Before I decided to hibernate in my cabin, dad and I actually had Christmas dinner at the buffet.
Tomorrow I'm having Christmas dinner again, but I'll be alone because dad'll be working.
It really doesn't feel like it's Christmas tomorrow, though...
At least I got an upgrade, haha! I was supposed to be sleeping in a tiny, windowless cabin, but I got this instead!
I'm not complaining. ;)
Also, have you noticed it's snowing on my blog?  Since we haven't got any snow here, I thought it'd be nice to at least have some on my blog!

My belly's sick to its stomach.

2013-12-21, at 20:57:45
Doctor who
I've been feeling a bit queasy today,
so I felt like tucking myself into bed with a big cup of tea and a few episodes of Doctor Who.
This turned out to be a bit mistake, though, because the intro to Doctor Who (where the Tardis is
spinning through time and space) almost made me vomit.
I feel better now, though, which is good because I don't feel like being sick on Christmas.
What have you been up to today? :)

I've managed to get you a code that gives you 10% off on everything you buy at
All you have to do is enter the code "MELODY" (without the quotation marks, of course) at the checkout.
Unfortunately you can only shop from if you're Swedish, but I know that most of you probably are.
The code is active for a week, so it's perfect if you still need a Christmas gift for someone.
You can also buy personalised bracelets and necklaces, like the "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" bracelet above.
Click >here< to go to the shop, or on the picture above.

Rouge In Love.

2013-12-19, at 14:13:24
Hello lovelies,
I'm sorry for the state of my blog recently. I was really quite shocked when I logged on today to see that it'd been a week since I last posted something.
I just accidentally stumbled into another emotional pit, and haven't quite managed to drag myself up just yet.
I'm trying though. :)

All of the stress with school is over now. We didn't have school today, but we have this Christmas show-ish thing
at 5 p.m. that we have to attend. Tomorrow we have church at 9 where I'm performing with the rest of the choir,
and after that our merry choir will sing at an elderly residential home.
Then I'm popping over to Turku to meet up with Louise for coffee. I haven't seen her in quite a while,
and I miss her. Badly. :(
I've been quite in love with love stories lately (more like always), and I found a great one on Michelle Phan's
youtube channel. It doesn't hurt that her boyfriend is probably the most attractive man on earth, either.

Get along with the voices inside of my head.

2013-12-11, at 21:10:32
Today has been a really rough day.
First school from 8-10.45 then I came home and started working on our art project then I went
back to school at 2 to rehearse with our school choir then I came home and ate then Emmi came over and we put the finishing touches to our art project then Emmi went home then I did my History homework then we both finished the project portfolio about our art project that we also have to hand in tomorrow then I did my English homework and now I'm finally, finally done.
I don't blame you if you skipped that first part of this post. Really. I just tried to capture how hectic my day's been, and I've been so stressed about our art project, thinking we wouldn't get it done in time.
It really doesn't help, either, that I haven't slept properly in weeks. I don't know if it's the stress or what the fudge it is, but I feel as if I could fall asleep literally anywhere, anytime. But then my brain kicks in. It's hyperactive. So I can't sleep, no matter how tired I am. Which leads to me drinking lots and lots of coffee, tea et.c.
Which leads to me being high on caffeine and going completely bonkers.
I'm taking a shower now and then I'm heading straight to bed.
See you in a thousand years or so (that's how long I'd like to sleep. In reality, you'll probably see me sometime around noon tomorrow. Because, you know, school).

Promise ;)

2013-12-10, at 19:50:38
Hello everyone!
I got back from Turku a while ago, where I managed to get the rest of my Christmas shopping done,
and mum and dad did some Christmas shopping too (I sneakily informed my mum that I'd seen a gorgeous Estee Lauder lipstick in Stockmann... to be honest, I've wanted "Hot Lava" for quite a while now).
Dad also bought me a new suitcase that I'll be getting on Christmas, because I don't know whether I've told you or not - but I'm going to Belgium in January! I'm so excited!
I still have lots and lots of schoolwork to get done tonight, so I'll leave you with this hilarious clip of Mr. Cumberbatch reading some very interesting lyrics. And making it sound even sexier than it is.
Good night in advance! <3

Sex and the City.

2013-12-09, at 15:18:21
A while ago,
I finished the book Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell, and unfortunately I haven't had time to review it yet,
so I thought I could do that today.
As some of you probably know, I'm a huge fan of the Sex and the City TV-series and the films,
and the four women of the series have been my role models for several years now.
The book is quite different from the TV-series,
they've changed a few characters in the series and some characters are original characters from the book,
but have been completely transformed. For example, in the book Stanford Blatch has long hair and is very popular among guys. In the series, on the other hand, he's bald, a bit chubby, but just as lovely.
I found it difficult to keep track of what was happening and who was involved in the book,
but after a while it all got easier to understand and the book became more and more exciting with every page.
I think Carrie seems a bit more cynical and bitter in the book than she does in the series,
but I still can't help loving her.
The book is served up in bite-sized chunks, since the chapters are divided into several small scenes.
A chapter can contain 10-15 different stories, which makes the book feel fresh and keeps the reader from losing his/her interest.
I'd give it a 4 out of 5, and for Sex and the City fans - it's a must-read!

I decided that it was time for a new wallpaper for my Chromebook,
so I scrolled around for a while until I found this one.
I love it because it's not too festive, but it's still very wintery and cozy, if that makes any sense?
Do you have a festive or wintery wallpaper on your computer? :)

Hello lovelies!
I spent a while decorating the pieces for our gingerbread house with Nora today, and I have to say -
we were doomed to fail right from the start. Everything went wrong, but we finally managed to get the icing to look even slightly OK. We blamed the icing. Of course.
Other than that, I've spent my day studying, and I will probably spend the rest of my day  working on our art project. All of the groups got a week extra to work on the art project, but we're still nowhere near done
and we've made a few mistakes that I somehow have to try to fix today.
What have you been up to this glorious Sunday? :)

The Catching Fire Tag.

2013-12-07, at 22:26:51
Ohai, now you know why I had golden lipstick (read: eyeshadow. that wouldn't come off) and eyeliner a while ago, and looked like a lunatic the whole day. But then again, I'd do anything (not really) to achieve the Capitol look! ;)
Nah but really, the gold is actually to honour Cinna's memory, because he always wore gold eyeliner -
which was gorgeous on him, but not so gorgeous on me, unfortunately.
If you decide to make a video of your own with the Catching Fire tag, comment with a link to it!
(Since youtube's decided that video responses are unnecessary)

Winter Essentials.
Winter Essentials. by melody-moonchild featuring christmas pattern leggings
I've been away from polyvore for an awfully long time,
so while I'm waiting for my youtube video to upload, I thought I'd make a collage of my winter/Christmas essentials!
Sweatshirts are the best shirts to wear in the winter, and with a nice Christmas motif you're guaranteed to brighten up your own day, and everyone else's day too!
(Unless, of course, you're a grinch. In that case, you might want to avoid all things festive.)

Dreaming of a White Christmas.

2013-12-07, at 16:00:48
I finally got the snow I'd wanted yesterday!
I was so happy to wake up and see that it was snowing, and yesterday was really the perfect day for me.
JamJam and I spent the day watching the first three Home Alone movies, it's like our little Christmas tradition, since we've done it for a few years now. This year, though, we just sat and complained about how stupid the burglars were all the time, haha!
(No but really, they're fudging stupid. Just saying.)
I haven't done a whole lot today, but I kidnapped my dad's computer a while ago so that I could finally edit the video that I'd promised you, and it's now saving and then I'll upload it to youtube as soon as possible, while I try to work on some school stuff.
It's a pretty chill Saturday!
What have you been up to today? :)

New In - kind of.

2013-12-07, at 12:10:30
I just remembered that I've forgotten to show you what I bought during the Glam Rock cruise with Reckless Love,
and I've also forgotten to show you the awesome Christmas sweater I've bought.
The sweater's from a Finnish store called Tarjoustalo, which is kind of like Primark mixed with a drugstore,
only less awesome and with clothes of a crappier quality.
I'm in love with my Reckless Love t-shirt, although it's slightly too big for me.
I love oversize t-shirts, but this is almost too oversize, haha!
I also bought one for Emilia, since she couldn't be there with me, and she seemed quite sad about that.
I've been loving the "No oil oil" from Percy & Reed lately, it makes your hair super soft without making it feel greasy. All you have to do is pump one or two drops of it into your hand (which isn't enough for me, though, my hair needs at least three drops), rub your hands together a bit and then just comb your fingers all through your hair - and your hair is instantly much more softer and deeply nourished!
I also needed a new moisture cream for my face, because I get such awfully dry skin in the winter,
and this one from the Body Shop is the only cream so far that has actually worked on my skin.
I didn't really buy very much during the cruise, but I'm awfully happy with everything I bought!

Throwback Thursday, kind of.

2013-12-06, at 00:17:10
Some people think that spring is the time to reinvent yourself and start anew,
because that's what nature does in spring. It springs back to life after a long, cold winter.
Others think that summer is the season for changes, because somehow everyone seems very different when you return to school after summer break.
I, on the other hand, agree with Mr. Fitzgerald.
There's something about the crisp autumn air that makes me want to start a completely new life.
It makes me want to become a better person, and to find solutions to all of my problems.
This is why most of the major changes in my life have occurred during autumn.
This autumn, I think the lesson I've learned is that you can love someone else to the moon and back,
but that you have to love yourself more. I've also learned a lot about myself;
- That maybe I can learn to smile again, even though it may take some time.
- That I can actually manage without a man in my life, even though it gets a little lonely from time to time.
- That I can manage school just fine, despite all of the emotional turmoil I'm going through
(something I'm especially proud of).
It's also during autumns that my relations to my friends have shifted.
This autumn, I think I've redefined a lot of friendships, if that makes sense. I've figured out what works witch which friend, which has made everything a lot easier for me.
I've also noticed that I'm not quite as shy when it comes to talking to new people any more.
I also just said yes to a trip to Belgium, where I'll be speaking German all the time!
I'll be strong
Stronger when you're gone
I can't keep holding
I can't hold on
And when it hurts
Just think of what came first
When we tried to make it work

All Of Me.

2013-12-03, at 22:25:02
Hola chicas,
I haven't been able to update today because the whole second year of sixth form went to Helsinki today.
We went to a study fair and then we visited a school called Arcada, but I'll tell you more about that tomorrow. :)
I've had All Of Me by John Legend on repeat on my phone all day today. Patrick showed me this version with
Lindsey Stirling (since he's such a Lindsey Stirling fanboy ;)) yesterday, and I fell completely!
I really want to make a cover of it, because it's such a beautiful song, but I'd need someone who can play the piano, and proper equipment to be able to record it properly, so yeah no...
You're my downfall, you're my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you.
