"For Him", a short Cinniss fanfic.

2012-03-29, at 20:19:42
As I open the sketchbook, a letter falls out. At first, I'm afraid to open it, since it has "Girl on fire" written on it in Cinna's artistic, elegant handwriting. That alone feels like a stab in my heart. But I have to open it, there's no way I could ignore a letter from Cinna.

Katniss,

We may not have known eachother for a very long time, but I sensed right away that you're exactly what Panem needs. You're the girl, destined to turn a spark into a raging fire, and I will do anything in my power to help you.
I'm sure you will survive another round of The Hunger Games, this time because you have to, and the other victors know it. I'm not saying they will all happily sacrifice themselves for you, but you will know what's going on, when the time has come.
This letter will wait for you, just in case. I have already risked a great deal to help you becoming the Mockingjay, and the Capitol isn't too pleased with it.
But whatever happens, remember that you're special, and that as long as you're not afraid of the fire, it won't hurt you. Be strong, fight back and make this world a better place.
I will always bet on you, just as you will always be the girl I set on fire.

I once said I always channel my emotions into my work, so I won't hurt anyone but myself.
This time you're my work, and I'm sorry if you get hurt.

Yours faithfully,
Cinna.

The letter falls crumpled to the floor as my mind whirls with emotions.
He was right, the Capitol wasn't too pleased, but that wasn't the only reason.
His words give me courage but still leave me feeling empty, and I realize that whatever happens, I must be the Mockingjay.
For him.

I just finished reading Mockingjay, the last book in the Hunger Games series, and I must say I feel very empty now.
The ending was very nice, indeed, but I couldn't help but feel a little sad.
It really shows us what war does. Life might continue on and get better, maybe even better than before, but things will never be the same again.
And though I quite like the other boy too, I'm very proud of the choice Katniss made, it was the only sensible thing to do, and it was so natural.

2012-03-27, at 20:42:27

Today my bandleader asked me what I usually listen to, since I decided to voice my annoyance with the songs we have right now, and I honestly didn't know what to answer him.

I listen to pretty much anything, just not the kind of songs we play during rehearsals. And besides, a good song automatically turns into a horrible song once you play it in music class or music school.

Anyway, his guess was Michael Jackson (because of my beloved hoodie, that I still live in), and then some kind of heavy metal or rock. Not entirely wrong, I do listen to that, not as much as before, but yes, I listen to Michael Jackson and various genres of rock.

The song above belongs to the genre I listen to most though, w-rock. But how in Merlin's name was I supposed to tell my bandleader that?

"Hi, yeah, I listen to w-rock, which is music based on the Harry Potter series. Now you know. :>"

I don't think so..

Once a Potterhead, always a Potterhead.

2012-03-24, at 10:32:48
Right, people have been complaining recently that apparently, I'm not a Potterhead anymore, and I feel like explaining this right now.
Just because I'm obsessing over Sherlock or The Hunger Games or whatever right now, it doesn't mean that I'm not a Potterhead.
Harry Potter is over, in a way, because there are no more books on their way, no more movies on the way, so sometime we're bound to run out of topics to discuss. But Harry Potter will always live on, in our hearts and in our minds, and just because you like something else right now, it doesn't mean you don't like Hary Potter anymore.

Harry Potter has helped me develop and grow in so many ways, and it's given me friends all over the world. Because that's what us Potterheads are, friends. Even though we haven't all met, we wouldn't hestitate to help eachother. And Harry Potter is what brought us together.

Harry Potter might be over, but it will never be forgotten, because it's one of those timeless stories that will live on forever. It's one of those stories that human kind will never forget, because it changed the world.
And once a Potterhead, there's no going back.
Potterhead for life.

Forever Wingardium Leviosa. With crazy laugh afterwards.....................

There's a crack in my foundation, that can only be fixed with Sherlock.

2012-03-21, at 17:21:52

Worst of the day: I was texting in school when someone bumped into me and my phone flew across the hall and landed on the floor.
My first thought after lifting it up was "Uh oh, something's wrong.." which then turned into "What the ****?" which then turned into "No ******* way!"
Let's just say this ruined my day quite badly.. And I don't know if I can get it repaired either, since the guarantee doesn't cover self-inflicted damages. So now I have to check if we've got an insurance to cover this, otherwise I'll just have to live with it, because I'm not going to pay several hundered Euros to get it fixed. No way!

Best of the day: My Sherlock DVD's arrived, which is pretty amazing considering I ordered them last Sunday! Only 20€ for the box plus about 5€ for shipping, I think I got away pretty easily.
Mum said she might consider them a gift for me though.. Thanks mum. <3
And now you know what I'll be doing today -> I'm watching A Study In Pink again, the real episode this time, not the pilot.
I just love Sherlock's mass-text in the beginning.

And some other news, it's Gary Oldman's birthday today! And Gary's said to be good friends with none other than our very own Benedict Cumberbatch, two of my favourite men are linked in some kind of way, my fangirling emotions are starting to get the better of me now! :'>

The red and blue on my two left fingers in the first picture is just a reflection from the flash, and yes, I'm aware of the fact that picture number two is very blurry. Live with it.

This is what happened when I tried to paint some Sherlock nails, and I must say I'm quite pleased, but I noticed I really need to get some new nailpolishes.. The ones I have now aren't easy to work with at all.
The floral pattern behind the smiley was even harder to do with my horrible brown polish than it would have been if I had had a good brown polish..
And if you're wondering: No, I didn't run out of inspiration and therefore painted the Union Jack on one of the nails, it's because Sherlock and Watson have a pillow with the Union Jack on it.

London's calling. Or is it?

2012-03-17, at 17:50:39

Source: Weheartit.

For a while now I've been thinking about going to England as an exchange student during my second year of High School, but I'm not sure if it's worth it and if it would suit me.
Therefore, I now wrote a short list with pros and cons. Problem is, I've got three pros and three cons.
Which leads me... nowhere.

+ I get to know the country that will be my future home.
+ I gain new experiences.
+ My English would be improved immensely.

- It costs a lot of money.
- I'd have to spend an extra year in High School because of it.
- My family might have to accept an Englishman to our home for a year afterwards.

I'm terribly and utterly confused in this right now, and when I asked a teacher about it, he told me it's much wiser to go abroad while you're in university.
Problem is, I don't want to go to university in Finland.

It's made my Hunger Games experience so much richer too, since I've had this song playing in the back of my head while reading the books, and I really think this is the perfect song for The Hunger Games!
If I close my eyes while listening to it, I can imagine being in the woods with Katniss, hunting with Gale, and hoping for a better life. But I can also imagine myself in the arena with Katniss, clinging on to the tiniest spark of hope.
This would be the perfect song for the scene where Kat leaves to get Peeta the medicine, hoping that they'll both survive if she does.

If you haven't seen this video already, I suggest you do, it will only take out 30 minutes of your life. This needs to stop, this man needs to be stopped. Where you're born shouldn't decide whether you live or die, not even your quality of life. What Kony's doing is unacceptable, and that he's been doing it for over 20 years makes it even worse. And nobody's known about it.

We need to raise awareness and show our support, so that Kony can be caught once and for all.

This can't be allowed to continue anymore.

If you want to do anything, watch and share the video, it's free and at least you've done something. If you really want to do something, sign the pledge or buy the kit, anything helps.

Eyeliner tip

2012-03-03, at 11:46:51

If you have an eyeliner pencil that is more pigmented/lasts longer than your liquid eyeliner, and you would like to use it as an eyeliner, you can just take an eyeliner brush and gently pick up colour from the pencil and then use it as normal eyeliner.
It might not work if your eyeliner pencil is very hard/compact, but if it's a little softer it'll work fine.
This method is also great for tightlining, if you don't have a gel eyeliner and you don't want to use eyeshadow for fear of getting it into your eye.

I've wanted a nice armchair to read in for a while now, you know the kind that you can disappear into for a few hours of reading and then when you rise up again your body isn't aching anywhere because you've been in an uncomfortable position. One that's perfectly comfortable in every way.
Unfortunately, my room is way too small/too filled with furniture to be able to fit an armchair into the mess, so I came up with my own solution!
It's the gigantic pillow and a few smaller pillows pushed up against the radiator, it's warm, it's cozy and it's the best that I can do.

When you haven't got much to work with, you take what you've got and you turn it into gold.
